Steward's Report
All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of boxing, starting, and catching greyhounds.
Wizardry Magic was slow to begin.
Limburg Blaze and Speedy Villain collided approaching the first turn. Weblec Opal, Flame Child, Limburg Blaze and Speedy Villain collided on the first turn; checking Limburg Blaze, Flame Child, Ivory Boy and Texan Galore; severely checking Weblec Nova; causing Weblec Nova to collide with Wizardry Magic; checking Wizardry Magic and causing Weblec Nova to fall. Weblec Opal raced wide entering the home straight.
Weblec Nova underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg wrist injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Weblec Opal underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request - no apparent injury was reported.
A post-race sample was taken from Weblec Opal - the winner of the event.
