Steward's Report
All persons attending today wore facemasks when required, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
Stewards were advised the track was medium harrowed on Tuesday, 29 March 2022.
Happy Hopetoun was quick to begin.
Cowboy Bebop and Oboya Bale collided approaching the first turn. Poppy's Pride checked off Oboya Bale on the first turn. Oboya Bale checked off Cowboy Bebop on the first turn.
Happy Hopetoun underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg quadriceps muscle injury. A five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs Joy McDowall regarding the racing manners of Happy Hopetoun in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mrs McDowall, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
