Steward's Report

Aston Tarrant and Nitro Bale collided soon after the start.  Purple Storm and Jaleesa Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Purple Storm.  Purple Storm and Aston Tarrant collided on the first turn.  Nitro Bale and Yalena Bale collided on the first turn, checking Yalena Bale.  Purple Storm checked off Watch The Clock approaching the home turn.  Purple Storm failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight and collided with Watch The Clock.

Purple Storm underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg quadriceps muscle injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Wright, the representative of Purple Storm regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Purple Storm was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Wright pleaded guilty to the charge, Purple Storm was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Beatrix Bale – the winner of the event.
