Sagrantino and Crackerjack Suni collided soon after the start, checking Crackerjack Suni. Crackerjack Suni and Curnow's Blues collided approaching the first turn. Sagrantino and Crackerjack Suni collided on the first turn, checking Crackerjack Suni. Curnow's Blues checked off Ieisha Bale on the first turn and collided with Crackerjack Suni; severely checking both Crackerjack Suni and Curnow's Blues. Crackerjack Suni raced wide in the home straight.
