A pre-race sample was taken from Rockabye Bear.
Starlight Amy was quick to begin. Wedding Or Baby went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.
Zing On and Crymelon Comet collided soon after the start. Zing On and Starlight Amy collided on the first turn. Wedding Or Baby visably eased and collided with Rockabye Bear approaching the home turn; checking Rockabye Bear and Crackerjack Cap. Wedding Or Baby visably eased in the home straight and collided with Crackerjack Cap.
Wedding Or Baby underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury; a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Ms Martina Kirillidis regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Wedding Or Baby was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Kirillidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Wedding Or Baby was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Crymelon Comet - the winner of the event.
