Steward's Report
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Orson Avery was quick to begin.
Oddball Armo checked off Levitating on the first turn and collided with Texan Galore. Orson Avery visibly eased on the home turn and collided with Happy Dance checking both greyhounds, both greyhounds raced wide as a result of this incident. Love Long Time visibly eased on the home turn.
Waylin Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Orson Avery underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right stopper injury, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Clint Capuano regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Orson Avery was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Capuano pleaded guilty to the charge, Orson Avery was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Love Long Time underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Gregory Berry, the trainer of Love Long Time regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Love Long Time was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Berry pleaded guilty to the charge, Love Long Time was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
