Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Innocent Gem.
Tinker To Burn was slow to begin.
Broken Boots, Alana Rose, Evil Entry and Innocent Gem collided approaching the first turn. Broken Boots checked off Dark Krystal on the first turn checking Broken Boots, Dark Krystal, Loch, Alana Rose, Evil Entry and Innocent Gem. Evil Entry turned its head outwards aproaching the home turn and collided with Innocent Gem checking Innocent Gem. Evil Entry turned its head inwards towards Innocent Gem and they collided several times approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.
A post-race sample was taken from Mouthy Boof - the winner of the event.
Evil Entry underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the nose. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr John Caulfield, the representative of Evil Entry regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Evil Entry was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Caulfield pleaded guilty to the charge, Evil Entry was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
