A pre-race sample was taken from Loves The Surf.
Loves The Surf was slow to begin (3L).
Butter Puddin' and Capitis collided approaching the first turn. Butter Puddin', Capitis and Blow Me Kisses collided on the first turn, checking Blow Me Kisses and severely checking Capitis. Loves The Surf and Blow Me Kisses collided approaching the home turn. Capitis raced wide on the home turn.
Capitis underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
