All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 24.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Bill Bob Lad was quick to begin. Sugar Baloney was slow to begin.

Milana Rose, Tuxedo Tears, Balt's Fantasy and Perpetuate collided soon after the start. Perpetuate and Balt's Fantasy collided approaching the first turn. Sugar Baloney checked off Balt's Fantasy on the first turn causing Perpetuate, Sugar Baloney and Balt's Fantasy to collide. Milana Rose and Tuxedo Tears collided approaching the home turn. Vin Joel, Free Advice, Storm To Burn and Black Heel High were quick to begin. Ship Of Fools and Cawbourne Mimma were slow to begin.

Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Red Potion with trainer Mr R. Proctor and noted his comments.

Decker, Jiggly Wiggly, Little Mug and Kalyeeda were quick to begin. 

Decker and Jiggly Wiggly collided approaching the first turn checking Decker. Little Mug faltered on the first turn and lost ground causing Little Mug and Red Potion to collide. Jiggly Wiggly faltered approaching the home turn and collided with Dust Up; Jiggly Wiggly fell as a result causing Red Potion to hurdle Jiggly Wiggly; Red Potion fell as a result severely checking Dust Up.

Little Mug underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left and right monkey muscles. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Jiggly Wiggly underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured elbow on the right foreleg. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Red Potion underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle and an abrasion to the left metacarpal region. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Dust Up underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have carpal sprains to the left and right foreleg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Rower's Rule was quick to begin. Two Mac's Bang was slow to begin.

Joffa's Impala and Warrior Jake collided on the first turn checking Warrior Jake. Two Mac's Bang galloped on the heels of Rower's Rule on the home turn. Miss Zeus and Warrior Jake collided on the home turn.

Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Capital Kay with trainer Mr R.Proctor and noted his comments.

Moraine Izzy, Super Marli and Capital Kay collided soon after the start checking Capital Kay. Devika Bale and Eleora Bale collided approaching the first turn. Capital Kay and Eleora Bale collided on the first turn checking Capital Kay. Eleora Bale checked off Swamp Donkey on the home turn. Capital Kay raced wide in the home straight.

Capital Kay underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Charlie Checker and Moraine Hayley were quick to begin. Pansy Parkinson was slow to begin.

Burning Eddy and Fried White Bait collided approaching the first turn. Pansy Parkinson checked off Helena Ravenclaw on the first turn checking Burning Eddy.

Yazid Bale, Cypress Bale, Aston Astro and Marli Ann were quick to begin. Cawbourne Gout and Ted Do were slow to begin.

Mr Kurt Burger-Trudgett requested an early race endorsement for Knock An Scratch. The Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on-track veterinarian. Knock And Scratch will compete in early races until further notice.

Tinker Calie was quick to begin. Calthorpe went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

Cawbourne Cheeky and Knock An Scratch collided soon after the start. Patricia Mary and Knock An Scratch collided approaching the first turn. Calthorpe faltered on the first turn, raced wide and lost ground. Cawbourne Cheeky and Knock An Scratch collided approaching the home turn. Patricia Mary checked off Cawbourne Cheeky on the home turn. 

Calthorpe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 12. Calthorpe was was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle and cervico thoratic muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. A follow up veterinary certificate must be supplied to Stewards within three days.

Stewards spoke to Mr K Gavin , the trainer of Calthorpe regarding the greyhounds performance on the first turn. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr K Gavin to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Calthorpe in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event. 

Supplementary Report 27.01.2021:

Trainer Mr K Gavin reported to Stewards that his greyhound Calthorpe has presented further injuries upon examination.  The greyhound will be taken to a veterinarian today 27.1.21 for a further diagnostic examination.

Joe Baker underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right dew claw. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Rockstar Jelfs underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to an injury to the right back muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. A follow up veterinary certificate must be supplied to Stewards within three days.
