Steward's Report
Lala Grapefruit, Roxy Vodka and Savrance Bale were quick to begin. Roxy Quaker and Victa Reid were slow to begin.
Victa Reid crossed to the outside soon after the start and checked off Dusty Lyn. Lala Grapefruit, Roxy Vodka and Savrance Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Savrance Bale and Dusty Lyn. Mepunga Ruby checked off Our Watto approaching the first turn and crossed to the rail. Mepunga Ruby, Roxy Vodka, Savrance Bale, Dusty Lyn and Victa Reid collided on the first turn checking Roxy Quaker severely checking Mepunga Ruby, Roxy Vodka, Savrance Bale and Victa Reid; Dusty Lyn fell as a result. Lala Grapefruit checked off Our Watto approaching the second turn checking Our Watto. Roxy Vodka and Savrance Bale collided on the third turn and again approaching the home turn checking Savrance Bale severely checking Roxy Vodka and Victa Reid. Mepunga Ruby shifted in and marred Our Watto in the home straight.
Dusty Lyn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a superficial abrasion to the left elbow - no stand down period was imposed.
Mepunga Ruby underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Webb, the trainer of Mepunga Ruby regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mepunga Ruby was charged with marring. Mr Webb pleaded guilty to the charge, Mepunga Ruby was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
