Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) lure driver, Mr Chris Chilcott did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
Lala Kiwi was quick to begin. Chillout Cookie, Hill Top Jack and Trending River were slow to begin.
Lala Kiwi and Lala Juniper collided approaching first turn. Palesa Bale lost ground approaching the first turn and collided with Chillout Cookie severely checking both greyhounds. Victa Grosso checked off Lala Kiwi on the first turn. Lala Kiwi, Negasi Bale and Hill Top Jack collided approaching the second turn checking Negasi Bale, Hill Top Jack and Victa Grosso. Palesa Bale and Chillout Cookie collided several times from the first turn to the second turn checking both greyhounds. Trending River checked Hill Top Jack collided in the back straight. Chillout Cookie and Trending River collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.
Palesa Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries the the left and right monkey muscle and left thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms Korie-Lee Heinrich, the Kennel Repsentative of Palesa Bale regarding the performances and market for the race for Palesa Bale (placed last) and Lala Jupiter (placed first). Ms Heinrich stated that the kennel did not support any greyhound in the race and had not publically trialled either greyhound. The source of the support for Palesa Bale is unknown. Stewards noted Ms Heinrich's comments and directed a post-race sample to be taken from both greyhounds.
A post-race sample was taken from Palesa Bale - placed last in the event.
A post-race sample was taken from Lala Juniper - the winner of the event.
