A sample was taken from Rockstar Rebel upon arrival at the course.

Notorious, Rockstar Rebel, Keenando and King Gristle were slow to begin.
Notorious and Kaison Bale collided soon after the start. Keenando crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Rockstar Rebel. Papi Go Fast and Rockstar Haynes collided soon after the start checking Rockstar Rebel. Rockstar Haynes checked off Papi Go Fast in the front straight. Keenando checked off Rockstar Haynes approaching the first turn. Keenando checked off Kaison Bale on the first turn. Kaison Bale checked off Rockstar Haynes entering the back straight. Rockstar Haynes checked off Rockstar Rebel in the back straight. Rockstar Haynes checked off Kaison Bale approaching the third turn. Get Real and Rockstar Haynes collided approaching the home turn. Get Real and King Gristle collided on the home turn. Rockstar Rebel shifted out, raced ungenerously and collided several times with Notorious approaching the finishing line.
Rockstar Rebel underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Paul Mathieson regarding the racing manners of Rockstar Rebel approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Mr Mathieson, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning line.
