Victa Grosso checked off Lala Kiwi on the first turn. Lala Kiwi, Negasi Bale and Hill Top Jack collided approaching the second turn checking Negasi Bale, Hill Top Jack and Victa Grosso. Palesa Bale and Chillout Cookie collided several times from the first turn to the second turn checking both greyhounds. Trending River checked Hill Top Jack collided in the back straight. Chillout Cookie and Trending River collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Palesa Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries the the left and right monkey muscle and left thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Korie-Lee Heinrich, the Kennel Repsentative of Palesa Bale regarding the performances and market for the race for Palesa Bale (placed last) and Lala Jupiter (placed first). Ms Heinrich stated that the kennel did not support any greyhound in the race and had not publically trialled either greyhound. The source of the support for Palesa Bale is unknown. Stewards noted Ms Heinrich's comments and directed a post-race sample to be taken from both greyhounds.

Lala Grapefruit, Roxy Vodka and Savrance Bale were quick to begin. Roxy Quaker and Victa Reid were slow to begin.

Victa Reid crossed to the outside soon after the start and checked off Dusty Lyn. Lala Grapefruit, Roxy Vodka and Savrance Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Savrance Bale and Dusty Lyn. Mepunga Ruby checked off Our Watto approaching the first turn and crossed to the rail. Mepunga Ruby, Roxy Vodka, Savrance Bale, Dusty Lyn and Victa Reid collided on the first turn checking Roxy Quaker severely checking Mepunga Ruby, Roxy Vodka, Savrance Bale and Victa Reid; Dusty Lyn fell as a result. Lala Grapefruit checked off Our Watto approaching the second turn checking Our Watto. Roxy Vodka and Savrance Bale collided on the third turn and again approaching the home turn checking Savrance Bale severely checking Roxy Vodka and Victa Reid. Mepunga Ruby shifted in and marred Our Watto in the home straight.

Dusty Lyn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a superficial abrasion to the left elbow - no stand down period was imposed.

Mepunga Ruby underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Webb, the trainer of Mepunga Ruby regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mepunga Ruby was charged with marring. Mr Webb pleaded guilty to the charge, Mepunga Ruby was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ambitious, Prince Of Idol and Mr. Speaker were slow to begin.

Prince Of Idol, His Stop It, Mr. Speaker, Stay Focused, Poppo's Grinning and Justify collided approaching the first turn checking Prince Of Idol and Mr. Speaker. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Paul Mathieson regarding the racing manners of Rockstar Rebel approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Mr Mathieson, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning line.

Code Blue Sue, Tinker Craig and Moon Flower were slow to begin.

Pyrocumulus and Smart As Jack collided soon after the start. Code Blue Sue checked off Denzell Bale soon after the start. Pyrocumulus and Smart As Jack collided several times in the front straight checking Pyrocumulus. Smart As Jack, New Jack Swing and Tinker Craigh collided on the first turn. Pyrocumulus brushed the inside running rail first turn. Pyrocumulus, Code Blue Sue and Moon Flower collided on the second turn. Smart As Jack and Tinker Craig collided approaching the home turn. Smart As Jack checked off Tinker Craig on the home turn. Tinker Craig and New Jack Swing collided approaching the winning post

Pyrocumulus underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left pectoral muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Ashley Terry, the trainer of Pyrocumulus regarding the performance of the greyhound today. Ms Terry stated that Pyrocumulus prefers to be drawn mid-track, is better when leading and that the kennel did not support the greyhound in the race. Stewards also noted the interference through the first turn and the injury sustained when assessing the performance. Stewards noted Ms Terry's comments and directed that a post-race sample be taken from the greyhound - unplaced in the event.

Lachie's Legacy and Zipping Benson were slow to begin.

Knicks Bale checked off Jay Bird in the front straight. Havilah Kid checked off Jay Bird approaching the first turn. Zipping Benson checked off Havilah Kid on the first turn checking Zipping Benson and Knicks Bale in turn severely checking Lachie's Legacy which lost ground as a result. Havilah Kid contacted the running rail approaching the second turn. Zipping Benson and Knicks Bale collided on the home turn.

Wendalin Bale - Late scratching at 9.28am when Mr Corey Grenfell reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Spring Party underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a suspected right tarsal fracture. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Uncle's Girl - Late scratching at 4.14pm on 22 December when Mr Steven Collyer reported the greyhound to have a triangle injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
