Steward's Report

Code Blue Sue, Tinker Craig and Moon Flower were slow to begin.

Pyrocumulus and Smart As Jack collided soon after the start. Code Blue Sue checked off Denzell Bale soon after the start. Pyrocumulus and Smart As Jack collided several times in the front straight checking Pyrocumulus. Smart As Jack, New Jack Swing and Tinker Craigh collided on the first turn. Pyrocumulus brushed the inside running rail first turn. Pyrocumulus, Code Blue Sue and Moon Flower collided on the second turn. Smart As Jack and Tinker Craig collided approaching the home turn. Smart As Jack checked off Tinker Craig on the home turn. Tinker Craig and New Jack Swing collided approaching the winning post

Pyrocumulus underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left pectoral muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Ashley Terry, the trainer of Pyrocumulus regarding the performance of the greyhound today. Ms Terry stated that Pyrocumulus prefers to be drawn mid-track, is better when leading and that the kennel did not support the greyhound in the race. Stewards also noted the interference through the first turn and the injury sustained when assessing the performance. Stewards noted Ms Terry's comments and directed that a post-race sample be taken from the greyhound - unplaced in the event.
