Lachie's Legacy and Zipping Benson were slow to begin.
Knicks Bale checked off Jay Bird in the front straight. Havilah Kid checked off Jay Bird approaching the first turn. Zipping Benson checked off Havilah Kid on the first turn checking Zipping Benson and Knicks Bale in turn severely checking Lachie's Legacy which lost ground as a result. Havilah Kid contacted the running rail approaching the second turn. Zipping Benson and Knicks Bale collided on the home turn.
