Steward's Report

Cash No Credit and Breaking Stride were slow to begin.

Belt Up Baron checked off Lorna's Luck soon after the start. Moraine Shadow checked off Brindi Yaala approaching the first turn. Breaking Stride checked off Belt On Baron approaching the first turn severely checking Breaking Stride which stumbled and lost considerable ground. Moraine Shadow, Brindi Yaala and Walkerie Bandit collided on the first turn severely checking Brindi Yaala. Cash No Credit checked off Moraine Shadow approaching the home turn. Moraine Shadow and Walkerie collided on the home turn. Lorna's Luck raced wide on the home turn. Belt Up Baron turned its head outwards and visible eased in the home straight hampering the runnning of Moraine Shadow.

Belt Up Baron underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg deltoid muscle injury A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Lee Rowe, the trainer of Belt Up Baron regarding the greyhounds racing manners in th ehome straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Belt Up Baron was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Rowe pleaded guilty to the charge, Belt Up Baron is suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post race sample was taken from  Lorna's Luck winner of the event.

The squeaker was not affixed to the lure for this event.
