A pre-race sample was taken from Valhalla Girl.
Aston Guiness underwent a veterinary examination prior to leaving the kennel block and was passed fit to race.
Valhalla Girl was quick to begin. Pontiac Moon and Brother Griff collided soon after the start checking Brother Griff. William Rose and Stirling Lights collided soon after the start checking William Rose. Tank Slap and Stirling Lights collided approaching the first turn. Valhalla Girl and Pontiac Moon collided approaching the first turn checking Pontiac Moon and Brother Griff. Aston Guiness and Count Me In collided approaching the first turn checking Aston Guiness and Brother Griff. Count Me In was checked off Tank Slap on the first turn causing William Rose to race wide. Valhalla Girl and Stirling Lights collided on the first turn checking Valhalla Girl. Brother Griff was checked off Pontiac Moon on the home turn.
Aston Guiness underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have thin pads. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
