Steward's Report
Chuck Of Love – Late scratching at 1.37pm by Order of Stewards. No stand down was imposed.
Barrabooka, Ducati Monster and Zipping Whoopi collided soon after the start checking Ducati Monster and Zipping Whoopi. Need A Jockey, Equalizer, Zipping Bates and Flying Flash collided soon after the start checking Need A Jockey, Equalizer and Flying Flash and severely checking Zipping Bates which faltered and pulled up as a result. Barrabooka and Ducati Monster collided several times from approaching the home turn to the winning post severely checking both greyhounds.
Ducati Monster underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right hip. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. M. Briganti regarding the greyhound's performance in this event. After viewing all available video footage and hearing Mr. Briganti's explanation Stewards deemed the performance of Ducati Monster unsatisfactory. Acting in accordance with GAR 71, Ducati Monster must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Zipping Bates underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right hock and an abrasion on the right achilles tendon. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
