Steward's Report
All persons (both essential staff & participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 30.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.4 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Sneaky Kiss was quick to begin. Pay May Joy was slow to begin.
My Mate Tip and Diamond Siena collided on the first turn. Wheelin' In and Nitro Shelby collided on the first turn. My Mate Tip raced wide approaching the home turn. Wheelin' In and Diamond Siena collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight, checking Diamond Siena. Wheelin' In and Nitro Shelby collided in the home straight. Pearl's Entity eased in the home straight and collided with Sneaky Kiss; severely checking both greyhounds.
Pearl's Entity underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race four, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Ms D Coleman, the trainer of Pearl's Entity regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Pearl's Entity was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Coleman pleaded guilty to the charge, Pearl's Entity was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
