Halwes was quick to begin. Smokey Renn and Brute were slow to begin.
Ethan's Fury and Crackerjack Nev collided soon after the start. Silver Compass and Rezzie's Shout collided on the first turn; checking Crackerjack Nev, Rezzie's Shout and Ethan's Fury; severely checking Smokey Renn.
Smokey Renn underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
