Steward's Report
All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.
Saint Mac was quick to begin. Zipping Buzz and Ribbons collided approaching the first turn. Stalking Shadow and Ribbons collided on the first turn. Miss Marlee Moo contacted the running rail approaching the home turn and lost ground. Miss Marlee Moo and Ribbons collided on the home turn checking Ribbons. Joffa's Monaro raced wide on the home turn. Joffa's Monaro and Ribbons collided in the home straight.
Miss Marlee Moo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left monkey muscle, the left shoulder and abrasions to the front and hind left legs. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Joffa's Monaro underwent a post-race veterinary examination, at the trainer's request, and was found to have a laceration to the left front toes. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Saint Mac - the winner of the event.
