Steward's Report
West Song, Aston Value and Blazing Beast collided soon after the start, checking Aston Value and Blazing Beast. Roxy Tequila, Heidi's Gift and Roxy Ouzo collided approaching the first turn. Aston Value and Blazing Beast collided on the first turn, checking Aston Value. Roxy Tequila, Heidi's Gift and Roxy Rum Pumper collided on the first turn, checking Heidi's Gift. Aston Value galloped on the heells of Heidi's Gift approaching the home turn. Blazing Beast and West Song collided on the home turn, severely checking West Song which stumbled. Heidi's Gift visibly eased and pulled up on the home turn and failed to finish. Roxy Ouzo and Nitro Antwon collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
West Song underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Heidi's Gift underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind triangle muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs L. Delbridge regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Heidi's Gift was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs L. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Heidi's Gift was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Nitro Antwon - the winner of the event.
