Steward's Report
All Staff & Participants attending the race-meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings and when engaged in the exclusive race-day functions of handling, boxing, starting & catching greyhounds.
Pocket Titanium was quick to begin. Riverdale Ella was slow to begin. Joey Mac and Riverdale Poppy were very slow to begin {3L}
Radioactive and Tokyo Ted collided on the first turn. Radioactive visibly eased, turned its head outwards on the first turn and collided with Pocket Titanium who was severely checked as a result. Radioactive and Riverdale Poppy collided on the home turn.
Radioactive underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was re-examined following race 4 and was found to have a left hindleg fibula injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Langton, the handler of Radioactive regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Radioactive was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Langton pleaded guilty to the charge, Radioactive was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
