Steward's Report

There was no head-on vision available for this event.

Xamira Bale and Enicka Bale were quick to begin.  Private and On The Bit were slow to begin.

Daph's Ascend checked off Trending Air approaching the first turn, checking Private.  Xamira Bale checked off On The Bit on the first turn, checking Daph's Ascend.  Aston Toto visably eased on the first turn.  Private and Xamira Bale collided entering the home straight.  Daph's Ascend and Enicka Bale collided in the home straight.

Aston Toto underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg wrist and monkey muscle injuries.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr G Jose, the trainer of Aston Toto regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Aston Toto was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Jose pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Toto was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Aston Toto - the winner of the event.
