Steward's Report

Gladioli Bale was quick to begin.

Ingenuity, Weblec Whirl, Stardom and Xerri collided in the front straight checking Ingenuity.  Stardom galloped on Weblec Whirl approaching the first turn checking Xerri, severely checking Weblec Whirl which subsequently tailed off.

Weblec Whirl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left and right wrist sprain and an abrasion to the right front foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Hard Style Rico - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to handler Mr B. Turnley following the event as the boxing of his greyhound Ingenuity delayed the start. After taking evidence from Mr Turnley and the Steward at the start, Stewards deemed that whilst the greyhound was fractious when being boxed it would be in the best interest of all concerned that Mr Turnley gain further experience at public trials and then also box a greyhound to the satisfaction of Stewards, prior to handling greyhounds in races again.
