A pre-race sample was taken from Sharky Shark.
Dakar was slow to begin.
Pumpernickel, Major Winston and Sharky Shark collided soon after the start checking Major Winston. Sharky Shark and Dakar collided approaching the first turn. Dakar, Sharky Shark and Pumpernickel collided on the first turn checking Sharky Shark. Pumpernickel cramped over the concluding stages of the event.
Pumpernickel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp) Pumpernickel must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
Flying Zara underwent a post-race veterinary examination, at the trainer's request, and was found to have a mouth injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
