Phillip Keeping – New declared weight of 29.3kgs, last raced at 30.6kgs.
Mo Daniher was slow to begin.
Phillip Keeping, Shady Tex and One More Light collided on the first turn, severely checking Shady Tex and Cilla Gem; Dodge Coupe checked off Cilla Gem as a result causing Dodge Coupe to stumble. Mo Daniher and Shady Tex raced wide entering the home straight. Phillip Keeping tired and lost ground in the home straight.
Phillip Keeping underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Mckenzie, the trainer of Phillip Keeping regarding its performance in the home straight. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Phillip Keeping must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards reminded Mr Peter Mckenzie of his responsibilities after he left the course without the permission of Stewards.
