Steward's Report
Track Curator Mr. M. Bickerdike advised that the track was harrowed on 20/07/19.
Back A Roughy and Darcon Raider were quick to begin. Urana Hope was slow to begin. Baby Shark and Soda Charlie collided approaching the first turn. Baby Shark was checked off Soda Charlie on the first turn. Urana Hope visibly eased on the first turn and subsequently pulled up.
Urana Hope underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right shoulder muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. S. Mallia declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr. Mallia regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1) Urana Hope was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Mallia pleaded guilty to the charge, Urana Hope must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
