Steward's Report

Temperature prior to this event - outside 29.0 degrees, kennels 19.2 degrees.

Bolare was quick to begin.  Special Member and Bees On Fire were slow to begin.  Iona Misty and Bees On Fire collided soon after the start.  Voluptuous Dot, Special Member, Apila Cash and Iona Misty collided on the first turn severely checking Voluptuous Dot and Special Member.  Voluptuous Dot raced wide from the home turn to entering the home straight. Bees On Fire tired in the home straight.   Bees On Fire and Brindle Ninja collided several times in the home straight.

Voluptuous Dot was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a split webbing on the right front foot, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Bees on Fire was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained  a spike wound to a left hind toe and tightness in the lumbar muscles.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Johnson the trainer of Bees On Fire.  Mr. Johnson was of the opinion the greyhound struggles to run a strong 400 metres.  Stewards noted the explanation and took no further action.
