Steward's Report
Mrs Y. Andrews was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Muza's Magic pursuant to GAR 33.
A pre-race sample was taken from Stealthy Flight.
Gracie Sway was quick to begin. Kip Your Star and Ma Deuce were slow to begin.
Gracie Sway eased soon after the start. Gracie Sway shifted wide approaching the first turn checking She'll Be White and Muza's Magic. Stealthy Flight, Kip Your Star and On Degoey collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Gracie Sway checked off She'll Be White on the first turn. Muza's Magic galloped on Gracie Sway approaching the home turn severely checking Muza's Magic, Gracie Sway and Ma Deuce, Ma Deuce raced wide as a result.
Stewards spoke to Mr A. Andrews, the representative of the greyhound Gracie Sway regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Gracie Sway was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right thigh injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Gracie Sway with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Andrews pleaded guilty to the charge, Gracie Sway was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
