An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Sapphire Hawke a reserve in this event on 21 January 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Mr J. Clay, the representative of Blue Irish declared a new weight of 37.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Blue Irish last raced at 35.6kgs.
The outside temperature at race start time was 27.6 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.1 degrees.
A pre-race sample was taken from Liam Roxon.
Gypsy Kiowa was quick to begin.
Blue Irish and Liam Roxon collided soon after the start. Aurara Miss, Raven Rich, Berry Bound, Blue Irish and Taking Off collided on the first turn checking Raven Rich, Blue Irish and Taking Off. Blue Irish clipped the heels of Wolfie's Squeeze approaching the home turn. Gypsy Kiowa, Wolfie's squeeze and Blue Irish collided on the home turn. Berry Bound raced wide in the home straight.
