Steward's Report
Captain Jackie was quick to begin. Dyna Xerox and Chinookan Blue were slow to begin.
Opal Heist crossed in soon after the start checking Chinookan Blue and Winlock Dyno. Captain Jackie and Swansea Ceri collided soon after the start. Chinookan Blue and Winlock Dyno collided approaching the first turn checking Winlock Dyno. Chinookan Blue failed to pursue the lure on the first turn and collided with Swansea Ceri severely checking both greyhounds and causing them to lose considerable ground. Sergeant Schultz raced wide in the back straight.
Chinookan Blue was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right deltoid injuries and left and right shoulder soreness,10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Crawford, the trainer of the greyhound Chinookan Blue regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Chinookan Blue with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Crawford pleaded guilty to the charge, Chinookan Blue was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
