Steward's Report
Vivian Shiraz and Yuko were quick to begin. Winlock Ludacris was slow to begin.
Pancake and Mighty Josiah collided approaching the first turn. Vivian Shiraz and Yuko collided on the first turn. Pure Vengeance contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Rocket Tears and severely checking Pure Vengeance which checked Mighty Josiah as a result. Rocket Tears and Winlock Ludacris collided on the third turn checking Rocket Tears. Pancake marred Vivian Shiraz on the third turn. Vivian Shiraz checked off Why Not Peter approaching the home turn. Pancake veered out and marred Vivian Shiraz on the home turn.
Pancake was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right back muscle and right triangle injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr M. Clark, the trainer of the greyhound Pancake regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn and again on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Pancake with marring. Mr Clark pleaded guilty to the charge, Pancake was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted.
