Prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was recorded as 33 degrees. The kennel temperature was recorded as 21.1 degrees.
Sweet Sparkle, Pink Floyd and Yogi Mikado were slow to begin.
Riley Allen and Loch Tight collided soon after the start. Loch Tight and Sweet Sparkle collided on the first turn checking Pink Floyd and Yogi Mikado. Cosmic Yessam clipped the heels of Ivey's Affair on the first turn checking Cosmic Yessam. Sweet Sparkle and Loch Tight collided in the back straight. Sweet Sparkle checked off Our Delta Rose in the back straight. Our Delta Rose collided on the home turn and again in the home straight checking Sweet Sparkle. Ivey's Affair raced wide in the home straight.
Cosmic Yessam was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
