Mr G. Beattie, the representative of Need A Zac declared a new weight of 31.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Need A Zac last raced at 33.2kgs.
Chopping Spuds was quick to begin. Smoke Signals was slow to begin.
Parumba Taylah and Need A Zac collided soon after the start checking Need A Zac. Nate's Awesome, General Missy and Select All collided on the first turn checking General Missy and severely checking Select All. Need A Zac and Select All collided approaching the home turn checking Need A Zac. Shafira and Smoke Signals collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Shafira raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
Need A Zac was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Beattie, the representative of the greyhound Need A Zac. Stewards deemed the performance of Need A Zac unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Need A Zac must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
