Stewards spoke to Mr L. Carter, trainer of Why Not Kez, regarding the scratching of that greyhound when Mr Carter had another greyhound engaged in the event. Mr Carter provided Stewards with a copy of a veterinary certificate for Why Not Kez, and Stewards accepted the explanation for the scratching.
Eaglehawk Miss and Why Not Macca collided soon after the start. Bundarra Magic and Tron's Empire collided soon after the start checking Bundarra Magic. Eaglehawk Miss checked off Why Not Macca approaching the first turn. Dyna Jules checked off Why Not Macca on the first turn. Tron's Empire checked off Dyna Jules on the first turn. Disco Lemonade checked off Why Not Macca on the first turn. Disco Lemonade and Dyna Jules collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight. Eaglehawk Miss raced wide on the home turn.
