Steward's Report
The Stewards were advised that the track was deeply harrowed on 29/7/24.
Flying Tully and Neighbours Alarm were quick to begin.
A post–race urine sample was taken from Paw Berry – the winner of the event.
Paw Zachary underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abdominal muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to representative Mr S Coulson regarding Paw Zachary’s racing manners on the first turn, home turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Paw Zachary was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr S Coulson pleaded not guilty to the charge. Paw Zachary was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Sunburnt Jethro - overall performance, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr D Leatham regarding Sunburnt Jethro’s performance throughout. After hearing submissions from Mr D Leatham, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Sunburnt Jethro unsatisfactory. Sunburnt Jetho must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
