Steward's Report
Just Blacky was slow to begin.
Mini Dozer and Buckle Up York collided soon after the start checking Mini Dozer. Buckle Up York and Red Queen collided approaching the first turn checking Buckle Up York. Princess parker and Riccarton collided on the first turn checking Mini Dozer, severely checking Just Blacky, Princess Parker, Riccarton and Buckle Up York, causing Just Blacky, Princess Parker and Riccarton to contact the running rail and in turn causing Princess Parker and Riccarton to fall.
Princess Parker was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a number of abrasions on the fore and hind legs and left Achilles, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Riccarton was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left metatarsal, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Just Blacky was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left foreleg, no stand down period was imposed.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A + Whelping) - Stewards spoke to Mr Gordon Edwards, the trainer of Miss Pepperoni, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Miss Pepperoni last raced on 11 March 2018. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Miss Pepperoni trialled over the 311mtrs from box 3, weight 26.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 5th in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18:13, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14 lengths. Miss Pepperoni was cleared. Miss Pepperoni was forced wide and severely checked on the home turn.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A + Whelping) – Stewards spoke to Mr Alan Hunter, the trainer of Naughty Cazza, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Naughty Cazza last raced on 15 February 2018. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Naughty Cazza trialled over the 311mtrs from box 1, weight 27.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18:13, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Naughty Cazza was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Why Not Senor trialled over the 311mtrs from box 7, weight 35.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18:13, the greyhound 4 lengths a margin of 4 lengths. Why Not Senor was Cleared.
