Turbo Flutter was a late scratching at 6:02pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Go Lucy Go, Santana and Got No Issues were slow to begin.

Kip Moss and Go Lucy Go collided on the first turn checking Go Lucy Go.  Parumba Ned and Got No Issues collided on the first turn checking Got No Issues.  Kip Moss galloped on Emma's Blue Wren in the home straight severely checking both greyhounds.  Kip Moss and Emma's Blue Wren collided approaching the winning post.

Supplementary Report - Warragul 16/10/18:

Handler, Mr P. Martinovic presented the greyhound Secret Message to be vetted at the conclusion of kennelling after he left Warragul without having the greyhound vetted following the greyhound falling in event 12. Secret Message sustained no apparent injury. After discussions with Mr. Martinovic surrounding the circumstances, Stewards on this occasion issued Mr. Martinovic with a warning for leaving the course without having Secret Message vetted, and without the Stewards permission (GAR 42(2)).

Blue Suede Shoes was slow to begin.

Cleary Allen and Bird Of Paradise collided soon after the start checking Cleary Allen.  Cleary Allen, Bird Of Paradise and Yaritza Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Cleary Allen and Bird Of Paradise.  Cleary Allen and Bird Of Paradise collided approaching the first turn checking Bird Of Paradise.  Black Dash Three and Yaritza Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Black Dash Three.  Yaritza Allen checked off Whip Allen on the first turn checking Blue Suede Shoes, severely checking New Sense and causing Cleary Allen to race wide.  

Whip Allen was vetted after an incident in the catching pen following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a mild abrasion to the medial left stopper, no stand down period was imposed.

Mrs J. Imlach, trainer of Ebonique declared a new weight of 26.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ebonique last raced at 24.8kgs.

Stewards spoke to Mrs D. Dean, the trainer of Polo Pete regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Polo Pete last raced on 27 June 2018 and is returning from a left hind webbing injury.

Polo Pete and Rosta Power collided soon after the start.  Polo Pete, Rosta Power and Missy Meghan collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Piparae checked off Zambora Joey on the first turn.  Polo Pete and Missy Meghan collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  

Mini Tron, Buckle Up Leo and Scooby Boy were slow to begin.

Cheeky Cindy and Fiesty Ivy collided approaching the first turn checking Cheeky Cindy.  Buckle Up Leo, Cheeky Cindy and Fiesty Ivy collided on the first turn checking Bee Rose, Scooby Boy, severely checking Cheeky Cindy and causing Bee Rose to race wide.  Scooby Boy checked off Mini Tron on the home turn.

A post-race sample was taken from Ellen's Stardust - winner of the event.

Gaza's Rooster and Wears Woodleigh collided approaching the first turn checking Gaza's Rooster. Gaza's Rooster and Pietra Allen collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Wears Woodleigh galloped on Rapid Belle Noir on the first turn checking Wears Woodleigh, El Burrito, It's A Trick and causing all three greyhounds to race wide.  Pietra Allen and Downing Street collided approaching the second turn checking Downing Street, Rapid Belle Noir and It's A Trick.  Downing Street checked off Pietra Allen in the back straight.

Stewards noted the close positioning of the lure to the leading greyhound Dewana Be Sure entering the back straight. Stewards viewed all available vision before the all clear was given.

Stewards spoke to lure driver Mr. W. Harmor who explained that it is a quick corner and he momentarily slipped during the drive, resulting in the lure decreasing in speed at this point. Stewards noted Mr. Harmor’s explanation.

Dewana Be Sure was vetted following the event due to the greyhounds racing manners entering the back straight.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Micallef, Handler of Dewana Be Sure regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the back straight. Stewards were of the opinion that the racing manners of Dewana Be Sure at this point was a direct result of the lure losing speed and took no further action.

A pre-race sample was taken from Penny Worth.

No Road was slow to begin and stumbled soon after the start.  Perrie Lulu and Charlott's Angel collided on the first turn checking Perrie Lulu, Charlott's Angel and Dyna Winkler.  No Road brushed the running rail on the first turn.  Perrie Lulu checked off Penny Worth approaching the home turn checking Kimani and causing Perrie Lulu and Kimani to race wide.  Perrie Lulu and Kimani collided on the home turn.  Perrie Lulu and Dyna Winkler raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr I. Newcombe, the trainer of Evie Girl regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Evie Girl last raced on 20 June 2018 and is returning from a seasonal spell. Mr I. Newcombe also declared a new weight of 29.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Evie Girl last raced at 28.1kgs.

Big Bubbles was quick to begin.  Roland View was slow to begin.

Miss Dozer and Dyna Maple collided approaching the first turn checking Miss Dozer.  Big Bubbles clipped the heels of Striking Bikini on the first turn checking Big Bubbles.  Lady Alliance, Big Bubbles and Dyna Maple collided approaching the home turn checking Evie Girl.  Big Bubbles and Dyna Maple collided on the home turn checking Dyna Maple.  Miss Dozer checked off Big Bubbles on the home turn.

Madam Kinloch and Dyna Alice collided soon after the start.  Cersei and Ivey's Affair collided on the first turn checking Hillside Lady, severely checking Cersei and Ivey's Affair.  Madam Kinloch galloped on Cersei on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds in turn checking Ivey's Affair.

Cersei was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to both hindleg thighs, no stand down period was imposed.

Trey Smidge was quick to begin.

Pink Floyd and Tito Mojito collided approaching the first turn checking Pink Floyd.  Tito Mojito and He Shall Johnny collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn.  Trey Smidge and Come On Colours collided on the home turn checking Trey Smidge.

Galloping Wytee, Little Bala and Sub Zero Magic collided soon after the start.  Birkenhead and Galloping Wytee collided approaching the first turn.  Galloping Wytee and Little Bala collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Fast Trapper checked off Mahjong Magic approaching the home turn.  Porscha's Girl and Mahjong Magic collided on the home turn checking Mahjong Magic and Sub Zero Magic. Porscha's Girl and Mahjong Magic collided in the home straight checking Mahjong Magic. 

Just Blacky was slow to begin.

Mini Dozer and Buckle Up York collided soon after the start checking Mini Dozer.  Buckle Up York and Red Queen collided approaching the first turn checking Buckle Up York.  Princess parker and Riccarton collided on the first turn checking Mini Dozer, severely checking Just Blacky, Princess Parker, Riccarton and Buckle Up York, causing Just Blacky, Princess Parker and Riccarton to contact the running rail and in turn causing Princess Parker and Riccarton to fall.

Princess Parker was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a number of abrasions on the fore and hind legs and left Achilles, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Riccarton was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left metatarsal, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Just Blacky was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left foreleg, no stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A + Whelping) - Stewards spoke to Mr Gordon Edwards, the trainer of Miss Pepperoni, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Miss Pepperoni last raced on 11 March 2018. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Miss Pepperoni trialled over the 311mtrs from box 3, weight 26.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 5th in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18:13, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14 lengths. Miss Pepperoni was cleared. Miss Pepperoni was forced wide and severely checked on the home turn.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A + Whelping) – Stewards spoke to Mr Alan Hunter, the trainer of Naughty Cazza, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Naughty Cazza last raced on 15 February 2018. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Naughty Cazza trialled over the 311mtrs from box 1, weight 27.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18:13, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Naughty Cazza was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Why Not Senor trialled over the 311mtrs from box 7, weight 35.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 18:13, the greyhound 4 lengths a margin of 4 lengths.  Why Not Senor was Cleared.
