Steward's Report
Deano's Mojo and Rayza's Gadget were slow to begin. Little Red Hot, Nellie Shan and Atlantic Jewel collided approaching the first turn checking Little Red Hot. Atlantic Jewel and Nellie Shan collided on the first turn checking Atlantic Jewel and Artistic Genius. Atlantic Jewel and Artistic Genius collided approaching the home turn. Atlantic Jewel looked inwards towards Artistic Genius in the home straight checking Atlanitc Jewel.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. M. Berry, the handler of the greyhound Atlantic Jewel regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Atlantic Jewel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right groin, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Atlantic Jewel with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Berry pleaded guilty to the charge, Atlantic Jewel was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
