Steward's Report

A pre- race sample was taken from Rare Gem.

Zipping Brandy was quick to begin.  Sandtrack Sniper and Parumba Chief were slow to begin.  Flywheel Snowy and Oriental Rhys collided soon after the start.  Flywheel Snowy checked off Scooby Scooby Do approaching the first turn.  Parumba Chief checked off Sandtrack Sniper approaching the first turn.  Parumba Chief checked off Sandtrack Sniper on the first turn.  Parumba Chief subsequently tailed off.  Sandtrack Sniper checked off Scooby Scooby Do on the home turn.  Flywheel Snowy eased approaching the winning post.

Parumba Chief was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. E. Lieshout, the trainer of Parumba Chief regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Parumba Chief with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Lieshout pleaded guilty to the charge, Parumba Chief was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Bye, the trainer of the greyhound Flywheel Snowy regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Flywheel Snowy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind toe.  No stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Flywheel Snowy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Bye pleaded guilty to the charge, Flywheel Snowy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
