Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Graham, the trainer of Woodleigh Sal regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Woodleigh Sal last raced on 8th December, 2017. Mr. Graham stated that Woodleigh Sal was returning to racing after being on season.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Brown, the trainer of Dashing Max regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dashing Max last raced on 26th November, 2017. Mr. Brown stated that Dashing Max was returning to racing after a spell.
A pre-race sample was taken from Where's Marcia.
This race was delayed by approximately 1 minute due to operational issues.
Shamus Mac was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Oriental Tarj, Bill Heeny and Where's Marcia collided on the first turn severely checking Oriental Tarj and Where's Marcia. Woodleigh Sal and Deadline collided on the home turn. Dashing Max and Quirky collided on the home turn.
Oriental Tarj was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left stopper and left metacarpal. No stand down period was imposed.
Where's Marcia was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
