Steward's Report
Beanology was a late scratching at 21:03pm due to injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Chances.
Chances and Dr. Gidget collided soon after the start checking Dr. Gidget. Aston Ciobo, Surgical Wally and Dr. Shreds collided on the first turn checking Surgical Wally and Dr. Shreds. Aston Ciobo faltered approaching the home turn and subsequently tailed off. Zipping Todd galloped on Nimble Lucy approaching the home turn checking Nimble Lucy. Zipping Todd eased approaching the home turn checking Nimble Lucy and Chances. Nimble Lucy checked off Chances on the home turn.
Aston Ciobo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Nimble Lucy was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Zipping Todd was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the left hindleg and bruising to the left elbow, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. McMillan, the trainer of the greyhound Zipping Todd regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Zipping Todd with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr.McMillan pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Todd was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
