Mel Moral checked off It's A Danger on the first turn. Ayo Joy checked off Sunny's Kayo on the second turn. Sunny's Kayo checked off Mel Moran approaching the home turn. Deja Vu Rock checked off Ayo Joy approaching the home turn. Ayo Joy and Sunny's Kayo collided approaching the home turn. Ayo Joy checked off Sunny's Kayo on the home turn. Ria Listic Ria was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left long head triceps (monkey) and gluteals (hip) mucles, the right sartorius (pencil) muscle, and both deltoid and trapezius muscles. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Smart Mary and Phoenix Fernando were slow to begin.

All Dolled Up, Zoehanna Diva and Kauai collided approaching the first turn, checking Zoehanna Diva. All Dolled Up and Kauai collided on the first turn, checking Kauai. Smart Mary and Phoenix Fernando collided on the first turn. Smart Mary, Kauai and Phoenix Fernando collided on the second turn, checking Phoenix Fernando and Kauai. Limburg Will and Hotspur Joey collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. It's A Wish and Blue Striker collided on the first turn. Classy Aussie galloped on the heels of Blue Striker on the first turn. Blue Striker, Shima Breeze and Classy Aussie collided on the first turn, checking Blue Striker, and severely checking Hotspur Joey, Undenied Access and Classy Aussie and causing Undenied Access and Classy Aussie to stumble, and Classy Aussie to lose ground as a result. Blue Striker checked off Limburg Will approaching the third turn. Classy Aussie checked off Hotspur Joey on the third turn.

Reiko Rocketta and My Girl Josiah collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking My Girl Josiah. Joshua Rocks galloped on the heels of Limburg Patrick entering the back straight, checking both greyhounds. My Girl Josiah clipped the heels of Limburg Patrick on the third turn. My Girl Josiah and Limburg Patrick collided approaching the home turn. My Girl Josiah eased on the home turn and collided with Limburg Patrick.

Stewards spoke to Mr John Bosnich, the trainer of the greyhound My Girl Josiah, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. My Girl Josiah was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right sartorius (pencil) muscle, a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged My Girl Josiah with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Bosnich pleaded guilty to the charge, My Girl Josiah was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Brad Greenough, the representative of Fantastic Ghost, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Fantastic Ghost last raced on 14 January 2018 and is resuming from a spell.

Tyche Onyx was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right stopper bone and gluteals (hip) muscle, and both trapezius muscles. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Fantastic Ghost was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.
