Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Romany Girl.

Romany Girl was quick to begin.  Octo Flash and Dyna Cadet were slow to begin.

Al's In Trouble galloped on the heels of Marlucky Day approaching the first turn.  Pandora's Proof stumbled on the first turn and fell, Marlucky Day was checked as a result.  Hot Cruiser eased approaching the home turn and collided with Romany Girl.  Hot Cruiser failed to pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn and checked off the heels off Romany Girl and Octo Flash checking both greyhounds.  Octo Flash, Romany Girl and Marlucky Day raced wide on the home turn.  Hot Cruiser eased and crossed out in the home straight and collided with Octo Flash and Traveller's Lady.

Pandora's Proof was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Hot Cruiser was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Hansen, the representative of the greyhound hot Cruiser who declined a re-vet, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Hot Cruiser with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hansen pleaded guilty to the charge, Hot Cruiser was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
