Striking Gold was quick to begin. Hard Man Chapta was slow to begin.
Montana Fernando and Quick Defence collided soon after the start checking Montana Fernando. Daytona Fernando and Blond Annie collided soon after the start checking Daytona Fernando. Ohio Fernando brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Blond Annie and Keep On Runnin' collided on the first turn causing Blond Annie to fall and severely checking Keep On Runnin', Daytona Fernando, Hard Man Chapta and Montana Fernando.
Blond Annie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right monkey muscle, left quadriceps injuries, lacerations to the right front and hind, left hind and a spike wound to the right hind, a10 day stand down period was imposed.
Ohio Fernando was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right stopper and metatarsals, no stand down period was imposed.
