Murrabit Betty was quick to begin. Night Hawk and Kathy's Lady were slow to begin.
Dashing Diamond checked off Cruising Suzie approaching the first turn. Kathy's Lady checked off Dashing Diamond approaching the first turn. Cruising Suzie raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Kathy's Lady and Night Hawk collided entering the home straight. Dashing Diamond and Hearing De Novo collided in the home straight checking Hearing De Novo.

Supplementary Report – Geelong 16/2/18: Jai Willoughby and Haydn Wilkinson each pleaded guilty to a charge of negligence under GAR. 86(o) for failing to remove the greyhound Ben Roman from the kennel block at the conclusion of the race meeting. Mr. Willoughby and Mr. Wilkinson were each fined $100. In determining penalty Stewards took into account their forthright evidence and good records in relation to this rule, however were also mindful of the potential welfare implications for greyhounds left on course.
