Cardamom was slow to begin. Jet Blaster and Cardamom collided soon after the start, checking Down Mexico Way, Sleeping Slick and Johnny's Return. Sleeping Slick and Unbackable collided soon after the start, checking Jet Blaster. Cullquin Bomber, Nangar Warrior, Johnny's Return, Down Mexico Way and Cardamom collided at the 300m mark. Nangar Warrior, Cullquin Bomber, Jet Blaster and Sleeping Slick collided at the 250m mark, checking Jet Blaster. Jet Blaster and Johnny's Return collided approaching the 150m mark. Jet Blaster checked off Cullquin Bomber approaching the winning post.
