Steward's Report
Mr R Galea (representing trainer - J Galea) declared a new weight of 31.1kgs for Seven Two in accordance with GAR 39(2). Seven Two last raced at Bendigo on 8 November, 2017 at 32.8kgs. Stewards directed a full veterinary examination of Seven Two and was passed fit for racing by the GRV Veterinary Officer. Stewards spoke to Mr R Galea regarding the weight variation of Seven Two. Mr Galea stated that it was the trainer's intention to take weight off the greyhound. Stewards noted the explanation.
LIttle Toby was slow to begin. Fernando Drums was quick to begin. Fernando Drums crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Our Mate Wilson. Pergamon and Fernando Drums collided approaching the 300m mark. Succession Plan and Miss Pepperoni collided approaching the 300m mark. Little Toby and Pergamon collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Pergamon. Seven Two and Fernando Drums collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Pergamon and Fernando Drums and severely checking Seven Two which faltered and tailed off as a result. Little Toby and Fernando Drums collided approaching the winning post.
Seven Two was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following race 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
