Little Bala was slow to begin.  Mr. Belahoya and Little Bala collided soon after the start.  Dee Dee One checked off Lucky Millie soon after the start.  Mr. Delahoya and Coolup collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Little Bala.  Little Bala checked off Coolup at the 200m mark.  Coolup and Insanus collided at the 150m mark and again at the 100m mark.  Sunlit Breaker and Dee Dee One collided at the 50m mark.  Little Bala checked off Insanus at the 50m mark.

Divino was a late scratching at 10.29am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an injured right stopper and right wrist. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr B Buchanan regarding the circumstances in which both greyhounds presented at kennelling in an injured condition.  Mr Buchanan told Stewards that both greyhounds jumped out of the back of the stationary vehicle in the carpark where It Is Done buckled, with Divino sustained grazing from stones in the carpark.  Stewards noted the explanation

Mr R Galea (representing trainer - J Galea) declared a new weight of 31.1kgs for Seven Two in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Seven Two last raced at Bendigo on 8 November, 2017 at 32.8kgs.  Stewards directed a full veterinary examination of Seven Two and was passed fit for racing by the GRV Veterinary Officer.  Stewards spoke to Mr R Galea regarding the weight variation of Seven Two.  Mr Galea stated that it was the trainer's intention to take weight off the greyhound.  Stewards noted the explanation.

LIttle Toby was slow to begin.  Fernando Drums was quick to begin.  Fernando Drums crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Our Mate Wilson.  Pergamon and Fernando Drums collided approaching the 300m mark.  Succession Plan and Miss Pepperoni collided approaching the 300m mark.  Little Toby and Pergamon collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Pergamon.  Seven Two and Fernando Drums collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Pergamon and Fernando Drums and severely checking Seven Two which faltered and tailed off as a result.  Little Toby and Fernando Drums collided approaching the winning post.

Seven Two was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following race 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms K Leek, the trainer of Trouper, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Trouper last raced at Sandown Park on 21 September, 2017.  Ms Leek stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right monkey muscle injury.

This event was delayed approximately one minute due to the muzzle on Just Like Didda becoming totally detached on the way to the boxes.
